We aim to respond to phone messages and emails within one business day. If your matter involves a person in custody, an imminent court date, or a limitation period about to expire, say so in your message and we will prioritise it.
A short summary is enough: what happened, when it happened, whether any court date or deadline exists, and the best way to reach you. Do not send sensitive documents until we confirm that we are able to act for you, since we first need to check for conflicts of interest.
No. A solicitor-client relationship begins only once we have completed a conflicts check, agreed to act on your matter, and confirmed the arrangement in writing. Until then, please avoid sending confidential material you would not want disclosed.
Our standard hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. We can sometimes arrange an early morning or evening appointment for clients who cannot attend during the day. Ask when you call and we will find an option that works.
Yes. We act for clients throughout Alberta and regularly handle matters by phone and video. Documents can usually be exchanged electronically, and we will tell you at the outset if a step requires you to attend in person.
