Rajiv Bhalla is the founding member of Bhalla Law Offices and brings more than 27 years of legal experience to his practice. His journey in law began in India, where he practised at the Patiala District Court. After immigrating to Canada, he worked with Alberta Justice and the Solicitor General until 1997, before being admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1998.

Serving people and helping them secure the rights guaranteed under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms has always been central to his work. Over the years he has represented clients from diverse backgrounds across Alberta, with successful outcomes in Canadian immigration, refugee, and criminal matters, and with counsel to local developers and home builders on commercial ventures ranging from small projects to large-scale developments.

In 2017 he was acclaimed Chairperson of the National Small & Solo General Practice Forum of the Canadian Bar Association. His involvement with the Forum began in 2010, when he was selected as its first Member-at-Large during the annual conference in Niagara Falls. Since then he has held leadership roles including Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice Chair.

Beyond legal practice, he is a founding trustee of a local school in South Edmonton that now serves more than 350 students, and an active member of the Alberta branch of the Canadian Bar Association, participating in the Immigration Section and the Small & Solo Group Forum.
